[1.1.7] The four lenses on Leadership

Within this book I’m going to specifically zoom in on leadership within the organizational context.
Talking to employees, leaders and HR professionals made me realize that within organizations (and beyond) there can be very different expectations from leaders. Most employees I have talked to often mention how specific individuals ‘make them feel’, what makes a certain leader stand out, or reversely what makes a specific leader a frustration to work with. Yet when talking to HR professionals they talk about larger groups, for example how leaders within the organization are either ill-equipped to manage talent. And finally in my years studying leadership, talking to professors, reading academic literature I realized there is a academic lens focused on understanding the process, and is often to sucked into.
Maybe give an example of both and highlight their positive and negative.
Each of these expectations of embedded in their own needs and challenges. Hence, when talking about leadership it is important to accept that people look differently at leadership.
